I call a time-out….at least for this weekend

Well fab fans & friends, this weekend was a little longer, a little different than most.

For one, the boy was out of town with his dad seeing family.

For two, Dominic had Friday off as they did 4 10′s this past week. So Dominic, Justice and I got a 3 day weekend all to ourselves….oh whatever to do with ourselves??? Well, I’ll tell you.
Pretty much….

Nada!!! :D

It was WONDERFUL!!

Other than a brief appearance at the Halloween party at our karate studio Saturday night, we did precisely bubkiss. Well, I did actually work for a couple of hours (at karate) Saturday afternoon but…..we won’t really count that. It’s not work, it’s rather fun actually.

So…needless to say….

No meal plan as of yet. No recipes sought out or found. Not yet any way. There will be. And as soon as I get one laid out, it will be presented here for you. As a matter of fact, I think I may just start on it now. ;)

Well, I hope that you all had as fantastic a weekend as we did and I hope that you have a terrific week ahead!

The dizzying whirl of the social media frenzy

How many sites are there now?? The options are overwhelming. With the new addition of Google+ it’s safe to say that I’m pretty confounded with the available options.

I used to have a myspace oh so long ago. Then, I discovered facebook. I hesitated to get a facebook account for awhile but knew that there were several friends of mine that were on facebook exclusively and most of my friends on myspace had fb accounts as well. So…I gave it a shot. And soon came to prefer it. Significantly.
And there concludes my social media experience…for a couple of years.
Oh sure, I was vaguely aware of another site or two but wasn’t tempted in the slightest.
And then came this blogging adventure. All of a sudden I’m seeing Twitter all over the place as a means of marketing and networking and even making money directly. I never had any idea that you could do that!! But then, I had never entered into a realm that had anything to do with or need of marketing or networking. All of a sudden I found myself fascinated by all things “blog”. I liked (and still do!) doing this. It was fun. It had potential. For learning, for release, for hopefully helping someone else out. I was loving it! And then I found out that it could also bring in some extra income for my family. With a lot of hard work it’s possible. And hey, I’m definitely willing to put in the work. I was willing well before I found out there was money to be made doing it. This blogging thing is great!
I was never any good at keeping a journal or diary but this is so much more. This isn’t just for me, this is also for others and THAT’s what pushes me. Everyone out there that may read it (you fabulous followers of mine!!!!) is who drives me. Drives me to be better, to do more, to work harder. And in that quest, I was researching and learning. Part of that research led me to Twitter. I was so opposed to Twitter. But that was before I saw what it could do. Now I understand the potential it holds if only you seek it out. While I won’t be getting a personal Twitter account anytime soon (read; most likely EVER), I definitely am loving reaching out into the twitterverse on behalf of this blog of mine and MO Creations as well. I love all of the people that I’ve been able to connect with. Learn from, network with, just plain ol’ chat with. It’s amazing! And while it does instill a certain desire or, at least curiosity, to check out these other sites, I feel like I can’t possibly add anything else to my schedule/to-do list. I feel like I would just be stretching myself too thin and you would be losing out. But then, so would my family. And that’s just not-a-gonna happen. Not acceptable at all.

But what about you?? How many social media sites are you a member of? Which ones do you frequent/prefer? And why?? This is a topic that is most intriguing to me, even though I’m a little shut off to more for myself. I want to hear what you think and what you use.

In posession of a strong desire for info….

Weekly meal plan 10/16/11

Well my dear fans and followers, this post is a bit tardy, but I’m workin it as quickly as I can. This plan is rather…lacking, but I’ve pulled out an old recipe and dusted it off for this week as well as returning to a recent hit.
So without further ado….

Sunday was the 1st of 3 Scrounge days this week. Yeah….I know. What wholesome and prudent planning huh?! Well…this weeks pitiful plan is pretty much do to the fact that I was exhausted when it came to time to figure it out. This just means that I get a break this week.

Monday marks the return of Turkey Lasagna. This one was quite popular the 1st go round and I can’t wait for the repeat.

Tuesday is Scrounge day #2.….‘Nuff said.

Wednesday has Nachos on the agenda. By now, you’re probably fairly familiar with this family fave and it’s frequent occurrence on our menu. It definitely is a frequent flyer, but an oh so delicious one that EVERYBODY loves! That makes a Jackpot in my book!

Thursday will have burgers on our plates. This is our “early” evening at karate so it’s the most suitable day. Dominic enjoys his well spiced turkey patties and the rest of us dine on beef. Mmmmm…….beef! ;)

Friday is the day that I bring back a fairly popular try from oh so long ago. It was the 1st recipe that I posted on the blog and I’ve only repeated once since. It was high time to bring it back for a little change of pace. Cheesy Cauliflower Casserole awaits us for this, the last day of the work week. Woo hoo.

Saturday is the 3rd and last Scrounge day on the schedule. What originality huh?! ;)

That finishes off this week for our house. I’d certainly love to hear what you have in store for your family.
What is your table offering up this week??
