Oh yes. You really can. And it’s absotively scrumptious.
That’s right fab fans and followers; you can make PIZZA Dump & Ditch style! Woooooooooooo! ![]()
I really wasn’t sure how this one would fare. When I found it on Slowandsimple I definitely wanted to try it but I wondered what the reception would be since we are a house that loves pizza (with the exception being Justice). This recipe claimed to be pizza but….could it stand up to the test?
Yes! It even got non-pepperoni eating Evan to eat the pepperoni! Oh yeah!!
I’m one happy mama!
So here it is……from me (via Slow and Simple) to you.
INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 lb. hamburger, browned and well drained
16 oz shredded Mozzarella cheese, or as desired
1/2 cup chopped onion (I omitted)
1 pkg. sliced pepperoni
2/3 box rigatoni noodles, cooked
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can (4 ounces) mushrooms (I substituted a 2.25 oz can of black olives, drained)
2 jars pizza sauce, about 12 to 16 ounces each (I used two 14 oz jars)
DIRECTIONS
Layer ingredients in buttered slow cooker as follows: hamburger, noodles, cheese, soup, mushrooms, onions, sauce and pepperoni.
Cover and cook on LOW for 4 hours.
This was perfectly palatable pizza. My only change would be to use less sauce next time. It was just a little too…well…saucy!
I’m not sure if it was the length of time it was cooked or the sauce or what but the taste of the pepperoni was much more mild which was nice, especially for Evan who always dispenses his to whichever family member is sitting closest.
This is a definite repeater. Yay! Pizza without the expense of delivery! Woo!
I hope that you try this and I can’t wait to hear how well it goes over in your house!
Enjoy!
