Workin up to it

Just thought that I’d drop you a quick note on Weekly Meal Plans.
I’m getting back into the swing and am working on bringing you some new things. I don’t think I’ll be restarting the Weekly Meal Plans for at least another week though. I need to do some work on finding new recipes as well as getting things back to organized here at the house.
Don’t forget; Share your favorite recipes with us. I’d love to see what ya got and give ‘em a whirl.

Weekly Meal Plan 04/01/12

Oh magosh! I actually got it done. On Sunday. Like……before 8 o’clock.
Apparently, miracles DO happen! ;)
There’s even a completed grocery list and everything.
Ha!
Go me!
It’s been quite a while since these things have happened in a timely manner. See me getting back on track (however slowly)??

I’m working on it guys, I promise!! The move, as well as the 2 weeks I spent bed-ridden beforehand, have really done a number to my routine. I’m finding it hard to get back into the groove of things, or, any groove for that matter. But the intent and desire are there, it’s just a matter of powering through! You guys are a big help to me. Knowing that you’re out there, waiting (with bated breath, I’m sure) for new posts helps my butt get into gear.

And a great big THANKS! goes out to you!! (Big virtual hug inserted here please)

And now, since we’ve gotten the mush out of the way, we can get on with the meal plan. This week is about ‘Cheap’… :)

Sunday – Well, today is a bit blank on the meal plan. I still haven’t decided if we’re going to further dent the leftover turkey mac-n-cheese or if we’re going to scrounge something else up. We’ve got some fresh corn-on-the-cob in the fridge that needs to be devoured, I’m just not sure if that’s happening tonight or not.

Monday – It’s the Dump & Ditch Pizza that was scheduled for last week that never got made on the plan for today. It’s so tasty, we can’t wait.

Tuesday – Cheesy Taco Pasta will fill our plates tonight. Quick. Easy. Delicious.  3 of my fave adjectives when it comes to dinner. (FREE being numero uno….) ;)
**In searching for the post to link up, I can’t find it although I clearly remember doing it. If I never posted it, my most sincere apologies go out to you!!! There will DEFINITELY be one this week!**

Wednesday – It’s a new Dump & Ditch tonight! Chicken & Rice that I’ll be pairing with some fresh green beans. This one came from SlowAndSimple.

Thursday – We’ve had several different varieties of this lately, and we’ll be having another in a couple of weeks as it’s Dominic’s requested Birthday dinner. Tonight, however, we will be having broccoli with the Dump & Ditch version of Mac -n- Cheese that I’ll either be adding ground turkey or turkey sausage to. Price will be determining factor on this one…

Friday – Saucy Beef & Noodles is our last scheduled meal of the week. This was a tasty meal but not one that has been repeated yet (for some unknown reason…we’ll call it aliens-taking-my-brain-for-experimentation even though it’s much closer (I’m sure) to Mo-just-spacing-and-not-paying-attention-to-the-recipe-archive). All of that is coming to an end as of today! …   Or at least, that’s the goal! ;)

Saturday – Here lies our scheduled Scrounge day. Dominic’s parents will be in town for Easter again this year and we’re unsure of the schedule yet so this was a great day to “plan” for food freedom.

~~closing fanfare heard here~~

There it be. With a new recipe and everything! Well, we can almost claim 2 new recipes since the post from the 1st trial of Cheesy Taco Pasta is MIA and presumed dead… ( I know I remember knockin’ that sucker out…but where-oh-where did it go?? Hello internet-land-of-the-lost……Whadja’ do with it?!?!?!???)

Hoping you have a happy week with wonderful meals to go with it,

Weekly Meal Plan 03/25/12

Happy Monday to you fab fans & followers!
I hope that you all had a fabulous weekend. It was absolutely beautiful here (mid-high 70′s all weekend), and I thoroughly enjoyed every second of the weather. Got a little workin’ at karate in on Saturday and just enjoyed our Sunday (instead of doing what we needed to do like meal plans, groceries and laundry). Justice met the Easter Bunny for the 1st time and she fell in love. We had a hard time getting her to part ways. :D (that pic will follow later this week or next)

So. Here we are on Monday and I have the meal plan for the week ready for you (oh yeah…and us too). ;)

Sunday – Yesterday we hit up Applebee’s. We stayed away from them for years due to their incredibly limited selection but we’ve rejoined the ranks of diners at the restaurant thanks to their increase in delicious menu selections. (No, totally not paid or compensated for this endorsement at all-just impressed with their current menu and wanting to share ;) )

Monday – Today we get to have what was originally planned for last Saturday. Salmon filets with a 7 vegetable couscous. I will be writing up a little post on this absolutely delicious couscous that we found-it’s well worth sharing.

Tuesday – It’s Meatball & Vegetable Stew for us tomorrow. Yummmm! I quite enjoy this Dump & Ditch. Different, tasty, hearty. Good combination!

Wednesday – We’ll be having Chicken Stroganoff on our plates for this midweek meal. It is, as per usual lately, another Dump & Ditch. I recommend this one if you’re looking for little different take on a ‘classic’. (Just be sure to remember to make the noodles-somehow I’ve managed to forget this step half the time… Hahaha)

Thursday – We’ll be having organic mac-n-cheese with some ground turkey tonight. I’m so sick of ingredient lists that are longer than my arm, but I also need some options for a quick meal when I don’t have the time, or opportunity, to make a meal in advance. This one is a suitable compromise.

Friday – Dump & Ditch Pizza baby! Soooo tasty! And how can you get better than D&D?!?! Woo!

Saturday – It’s the scheduled Scrounge day on this, the last day of the meal plan. Whether or not it stays here is up in the air, but…here it be. At least for now. ;)

And there you have it. My highly uncreative and unoriginal meal plan for this week. No new recipes like I planned. I managed to get bronchitis from my sweet little girl being sick this last week and I’m just not feeling up to trying anything new right now. Well, trying-yes, making…that’s an entirely different story!
How does your family get by when you’re sick?? Do you suck it up and cook away or do you leave them to themselves to manage??

Weekly Meal Plan 03/18/12

Well this one’s a bit on the late side but I’m getting it to you nonetheless.
This one is full of repeats but one of them is only a 2nd repeat and I’m tweaking it just a tad.
So here we go…

Sunday – Ok, so we actually went out on Sunday. I wasn’t yet ready for the cooking week to start so I pushed the official start back to Monday…you know how that goes?!?? ;)

Monday – Yesterday we had the fave Chili. This was the 1st time that I actually used measuring spoons for the spices and let me tell ya; it calls for more oregano than I ever used. Not more than should be in there, just more than I used on my own. Once dished, I dropped a large dollop of sour cream on the top and sprinkled a good amount of shredded cheese all around and it was absolutely fabulous!! Looking forward to leftovers for sure, as always.

Tuesday – Today has Chicken & Cheesy Potato Casserole on the lineup. This one’s easy and tasty. My fave combo!

Wednesday – We’re going to be having a 1st time repeater with a little tweak for the middle of the work week. It’s Ratatouille for us! I’m going to be adding some diced turkey sausage for a little protein this time around-to make it a little more substantial. Ooooh, I can’t wait!

Thursday – Our one and only Scrounge day for the week. We should have plenty of leftovers and things to pick and piece together so…

Friday – It’s Justice’s favorite on the schedule for this last day of the standard business week… NACHOS!!! Yum!

Saturday – the last meal on the plan is a treat. We’ll be having salmon filets with a delicious 7 veggie/couscous mixture. We’re definitely looking forward to this one! Healthy, quick, easy, and DELICIOUS! Wooooooo!!!!

So there it be for you, in all of it’s repetitive glory. ;) I hope that this brings some inspiration, some idea, some….something for you and your meals this week (or next).

Getting back into the swing,

Weekly Meal Plan 02/19/12

Happy Holiday Monday to you!

I hope that you’re enjoying this fine Monday morning and that it’s just the start to the new week that you need. :)

I apologize for not getting this post to you yesterday. My internet decided it got a day of rest as well and I was not able to get online to get it done. But problem remedied. Here it be for your eyes to feast upon so that your bodies may as well.

Let’s get right to it :)

Sunday – Yesterday was a Scrounge day for us. And actually, since Dominic was helping friends move most of the day and was ever-so-kindly fed, he didn’t end up eating dinner. So pretty much just Justice and I scrounging some leftover pasta and throwing in some bits here and there.

Monday – Today will be the lasagna (1 of my fave Dump & Ditch’s) that was on last week’s schedule that never got made. Last week didn’t go exactly to plan but I did get the 2 new ones made and will be bringing those posts to you ASAP.

Tuesday – It’s another Dump & Ditch scheduled today. Chicken Stroganoff that I’ll be adding some green beans to as a side. Tasty dish indeed.

Wednesday – It’s Quiche tonight. This one is so easy and delicious. I love it!

Thursday – Tonight is the 1st new one of the week. Cheesy Tortellini a la Dump & Ditch :) This makes the 3rd tortellini recipe in our repertoire but the first D&D version. This one is also the only non-vegetarian, although it would be easy enough to make it so.

Friday – It’s Nachos again tonight. Dominic’s sister and nieces will be in town and this is a GREAT group recipe. :)

Saturday – The 2nd new one this week. Enchilada Skillet. This has almost no resemblance to true enchiladas but it’s worth a try. :)

And that’s all she, and of course by “she” I mean me, wrote! ;)

The newest recipes will be brought to you in between packing and feeding children and errands and starting dinner and .. and .. and .. ~deep breath~

I wish for you all a wonderful week,
